Testimonial Breath Sampler

"They speak my language"

Prof. Edward Dompeling, paediatric pulmonologist at MUMC+

"I'm currently using the Breath Sampler for scientific research, but I hope to use it for clinical testing very soon. There are endless possibilities, such as the early diagnosis of asthma in young children.

I heard from colleagues that the people at Maastricht Instruments were good developers, so I came here. Together we developed the first EBC sampler and now the smaller, improved version. In terms of valorisation it was definitely necessary that we build a smaller version. My dream is that one day every general practitioner will have a Breath Sampler in the office to measure airway inflammation in patients. To realise this we need to develop an application that would allow doctors to immediately read the test results. That would make it much more interesting in a commercial sense."

Collective brainstorming
"I'm extremely satisfied with Maastricht Instruments. They have a good technical engineering department that brainstorms with you and they have a vast amount of materials and opportunities at their disposal that provide solid practical solutions. I really enjoy working with them because they really listen to the researchers and doctors and ask good questions such as whether the concept is feasible and whether the market is ready for it. They really speak your language and their physical proximity is also a big plus."
