Condenser

Within the Department of Children's Pulmonary Diseases of the MUMC+ (Maastricht Universitair Medisch Centrum+) research is conducted into chronic pulmonary diseases among children, like asthma, Cystic Fibrosis and COPD. In close co-operation with IDEE the condenser was developed, a system used to condense fluid from exhaled air, to be tested for the presence of relevant bacterial fibers and other biomarkers, and the seriousness of such conditions.

PASAQ

The PASAQ project is an internal development project (IDEE being its main customer) financed by internal research groups, Internal Medicine and Pulmonology. The goal was to develop an ambulant, universal measuring platform, the Programmable Ambulant Signal AcQuisition system (PASAQ), with which multiple ambulant, medical measuring applications can be realised.

The Horse

It is a well known fact that neck, shoulders, arms and hands complaints (NSAH) * frequently occur. Working with a conventional computer mouse may result in complaints like tingling, pain and /or obstruction of the bloodstream to and from arms and hands. Another indication of NSAH is restricted rotation of the head.

Vitrobot

The Vitrobot is a sample preparation robot for Cryo Transmission Electron Microscopy (Cryo-TEM). With the help of the Vitrobot, biological structures like proteins, viruses, or e.g. lipid vesicles, are frozen in their 'natural habitat', usually a watery solution

M-PAQ Data Acquisition system

On behalf of (clinical) research, Maastricht Instruments has designed a robust and flexible data acquisition system with a wide range of specifications: M-PAQ (Maastricht Programmable AcQuisition system). The M-PAQ system enables the simultaneous registration of a broad variety of physiological and physical signals, e.g. ECG, EMG, EEG (ExG-signals); blood pressure and / or temperature, etc. The system can be completely configured by computer through the IDEEQ software.

Balancelab

Maastricht Instruments developed BalanceLab for the Academic Hospital Maastricht in close co-operation with Prof. dr. Herman Kingma of the Educational Research Institute Brain & Behaviour of Maastricht University. With BalanceLab the researcher can give stimuli to patients, for BalanceLab to analyse.

Thrombogram software

Maastricht Instruments has developed a new measuring and analysis programme for Thrombinoscope BV. This programme controls the existing fluorimeters and can process the recorded measuring data. The analysis algorithms are integrated in the programme. Together with the client, MI has developed specific software, so that blood plasma can be sampled, measured and analysed quickly, simply and efficiently.
Throughout the development process, close co-operation with the client made it possible to develop a user-friendly programme and to refine the analyses. More information is available at: http://www.thrombinoscope.nl/

IDEE-Q

IDEEQ is a windows based data acquisition software application. In combination with either a Maastricht Programmable Acquisition amplifier system (M-PAQ); or a Keithley or National Instruments acquisition card, the application can analyse analog signals and project them in real-time. Recordings can be saved to be viewed and analysed at a later stage. Various analysis modules have been  introduced, the results of which can be visualized in graphics or tables. It is also possible to (partially) export signals and trends to a scrapbook of ASCII files.
